The Overrated Seeker

A good seeker may not catch the snitch every time but when they do they almost always capture the win. This is for the seeker who captures the snitch when it doesn't matter. A prime example of that is a novella by Violet Gryfindor called Murder on the Hogwarts Express. Don't be fooled by the hardware that Murder took home (it won a Dobby for Best Novella in 2007). The story is a graciously short read that originally was to be a parody of the traditional mystery genre; i.e. Sherlock Holmes. Intended to be witty and whimsical it comes out immensely flat. It is so corny one would think it was set in a cornfield. The horridness of the preceding sentence is the best you will find in this read. If this is the prime example of Violet's work then steer clear altogether and check out some of the featured authors in this blog.
